Hi Moyo

I received my first letter from you. Two arrived the same day.

What a joy!

You were so sweet, praying for me, my health, and my relationship with God.

I’m hoping I hear from you again soon.

You mentioned you wanted me to come visit you, that would make you happy.

I would love to come visit you, I hope you know that. I don’t know if it’ll happen but it’s in my heart to visit Africa, and get to see you.

I wrote you several letters in the recent days, N man did also. He’s really interested in how you live, what your life is like.

I hope you know you are so loved by Jesus and us.

So blessed to have you in my life, Moyo.

Bowl Me Baby

Hello guys,

Last night we bowled for Daddy’s birthday.

It was so fun.

N and Z, you both did a great job, even if the balls went slowly down the lane.

Daddy won the second game, I won the first.

It was a special time together, one we’ll all remember!

Hello Daddy Time

Hi Guys,

You played outside with Daddy last night.  N and Z, you had fun racing Daddy, chasing Daddy, playing tag and hide n go seek, and wrestling.

It’s a great delight for me to see you three interact with your Daddy. He is such a good Daddy!

Today

Hello boys,

Today we made memories.

Like every day.

Except this day I took pictures of those memories.

Z,

You hunted for frogs, toads, crickets and grasshoppers today. You found a few crickets, one beetle bug, one grasshopper – food for your toads. You made me smile each time you got an insect, said, “oh, he’s so cute”, then promptly brought him in the house for your toads to eat.

D,

You’re such a brave young man. The bravest of all my kiddo’s. Higher, higher, higher you’d say, as I pushed you so high it actually scared me. Laughter spilled out of your little body as you tossed around on the swing, barely holding on.

Z and D,

Nothing warms my heart more than when you guys play together. We all, including the dog, went toad hunting together. We didn’t find frogs, we did find a good time.

I laugh when looking at these pictures of the two of you together. I couldn’t get a carefree, easy picture of the both of you together to save my life – but that’s OK. These photo’s are more real life anyway.

I had fun with the two of you today. Love you both.

Let’s Paint the Deck

Dear Z,

You bless my heart more than you’ll ever know.

Your sweet, silly words…

The way you love with all of who you are.

You’re obsessed with frogs right now.

You want to be a toad for halloween.

You’ve named your captured toads, as you call them, super frog and mr. chirpy.

I love this age with you. And how laid back you are.

You could spend hours playing, digging, discovering, without the need of anyone keeping you company.

I like that in you.

I see you as independent, self assured, and that makes me feel a sense of ease that you’ll be just fine when you start school.

You’ll be five in a couple of weeks. Funny how it seems like you’ve been with us longer than that, but somehow it also feels like just yesterday you were born.

I love you!
